NIH confirms one death from CORONAVIRUS in Sindh





The National Institute of Health (NIH) confirmed that one person in Sindh died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Additionally, there were 106 new cases reported in the country, with a case positivity ratio of 2.52 percent and 22 critically ill patients. A total of 4,213 COVID-19 tests were conducted, with 413 tests in Lahore revealing 24 positive cases (a 5.81 percent ratio), 179 tests in Islamabad revealing 10 positive cases (a 5.59 percent ratio), and 36 cases confirmed from 551 tests in Karachi (a 6.53 percent ratio).

Minister for National Health Services and Regulations Abdul Qadir Patel announced that the government has strengthened Border and Health Services to address any sub-variants of COVID-19. A surveillance system is in place at all entry points, and there will be rapid tests and screening at all airports. The minister assured the public that the situation was under control, and urged people not to listen to rumors. He added that 90 percent of the population has received the COVID-19 vaccine. The health system is fully prepared to handle any sub-variants, including BF.7, of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in case of any emergency. Border and Health Services Pakistan is ensuring compliance with international health regulations.
